ASTER S. Cons. p.a. is a consortium involving the universities of the Emilia-Romagna region (Universities in Bologna, Ferrara, Modena and Reggio Emilia, Parma, the University “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” – in Piacenza, Polytechnics in Milan), CNR , ENEA, the Emilia-Romagna regional authority, the regional Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Entrepreneurial Associations.

The main aim of ASTER is to promote the industrial research, the technology transfer and innovation within the productive context of the Emilia-Romagna region, and specific goals are:

• to create and support technology transfer, also through the development of strategic projects, specific services and tools;
• to support activities aiming at the valorisation of research results, also through the creation of enterprises and self-business with high technology content.

ASTER has also developed an area of competences on the Human Capital in charge with vocational guidance issues, and with the development of human resources.

Services offered can be summarised as follows

• research, development and management of vocational guidance models, methodologies, tools and new trends of services in order to give innovative answers to emergent needs;
• project planning of layouts and of the logistic organisation of the information and documentation service of information, employment and guidance services;
• production of information paper and on-line materials for final users on job, education and training subjects;
  project planning and development of information systems, off and on-line databases, and monitoring systems for vocational guidance;
• project planning of web sites, portals and telematics platforms addressed to guidance practitioners and final users of guidance and employment services.
