Facts
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences has undergone several changes. For twenty years it operated as the Professional College of Education and Teacher Training College. In 1977, when the Faculty of Industrial Education and the Teacher Training Colleges of Rijeka, Pula and Gospić merged and became a part of the University of Rijeka, the Faculty of Education was established.
In 1998, the Faculty of Education was registered under the name Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The mission of the Faculty is to provide excellence in education to students in pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the fields of social sciences, humanities and natural sciences.
In the academic year 2005/2006, we implemented educational reforms complying with the Bologna Declaration and the first year programmes are in line with the Bologna requirements (ECTS). University undergraduate studies (duration: 3 years, 180 ECTS) and graduate studies (duration: 2 years, 120 ECTS)
